Red Hat Sound Card Setup
Red Hat makes it easy to setup your Plug and Play sound card with the auto-detect capabilities of sndconfig.

Sndconfig
Sndconfig is Red Hat's sound card configuration utility. It can be run from the command line. Log in as root and type "sndconfig" on older systems and "system-config-soundcard" on newer systems.

This utility will attempt to detect your Plug and Play sound card. It will then load the appropriate module for that card, and play a test sound.
