Setting Up Your Digital Indigo POP Mail Account
If you choose to use POP Mail to receive your e-mail you must
first download a POP Mail client program such as Eudora, Pegasus,
or Netscape Communicator.
After getting the appropriate software you must configure your POP client
to connect to the Digital Indigo servers. There are three important
settings that you must configure:
- POP Server (Also called Incoming Mail Server)
- SMTP Server
- E-mail Account Name
Your POP Server is mail.digitalindigo.net. Your e-mail
account name is the login name you received when you registered
for your Digital Indigo account. If you are unsure of your e-mail
name, contact Digital Indigo for assistance.
Finally, your SMTP server is the mail server of your Internet
Service Provider (ISP). For instance if you receive your internet
connection from the company called Supernet at www.supernet.net
your mail server is mail.supernet.net.
Typically your SMTP server will be your ISP's domain name with
the mail prefix on it. Important: If you are unsure
of your SMTP server contact your ISP or your network administrator.
After entering the required settings into your POP client, you should be
able to connect to your e-mail by clicking the Get Messages button
in your POP Mail program.
Customizing E-Mail Address Domain Name
Virtual host customers (those that have their own domain name,
hosted through Digital Indigo) will most likely want their own
domain name to be displayed in their e-mail address. If you are
a virtual host customer, substitute mail.digitalindigo.net
with your domain name in the e-mail address portion of your POP
client's configuration. Thus, if you owned the domain abc.com,
enter your_username@abc.com as your e-mail address
in your POP program.
